Changing how the world is mapped

Navmii is a free community-based navigation and traffic app, available in 197 countries and used by over 30 million users. Their mapping, navigation and location technologies are trusted by companies including Microsoft, Ocado, Aviva and Shell.

Challenge

The user interface of the existing Navmii iOS and Android apps hadn't been updated in a few years, and the team at Navmii gave a challenge: create a clean, modern up-to-date UI, in addition to tackling some key user experience problems whilst laying the foundations for further feature additions.

Impact

Working within a 5-day UX Sprint, we modernised the entire Navmii interface across iOS and Android, delivering over 60 screens with a fresh, contemporary design language. We solved critical UX issues around route planning and real-time navigation while creating a flexible component system that would accommodate future feature additions.
