What Precode is, what we do, where we’re based, and why we work the way we do.
Precode is a product design and build studio. We help companies validate ideas, design products, and ship working software in focused five-day sprints. Two senior product designers do the work, one project at a time.
We design and build digital products — apps, web apps, SaaS tools, websites and platforms. That spans product strategy, UX and UI design, branding, websites, development and growth. We deliver in sprints, not months.
It means we both design products and build them as working software. Most agencies do one or the other. We can take you from an idea to validated designs, and from designs to deployed code you own.
Precode was founded by Ben Keogh and Matt Thornhill, two senior product designers with more than 50 years of experience between them.

Precode is a UK company, based in Brighton. We work with clients across the UK, and also in the US, EU and Australia.
Yes. Precode is a UK-registered company based in Brighton. UK clients get same-timezone working and direct access to the people doing the work.
It's deliberately small: two senior product designers, Ben and Matt. No juniors, no account managers, no layers. The people you meet are the people who design and build your product.
It's a deliberate choice, not a limitation. It means every client gets senior-level thinking on every project, with no handoff to a B-team and no bait-and-switch. It also means we're selective about how much we take on.
We've delivered 100+ sprints since 2019 and we plan for it. We don't take on work we can't deliver, and because sprints are scoped in advance, your project never hangs on one person being free on a random Tuesday.

Staying small and senior is the point of the model. We'd rather say no to work than dilute what we deliver by adding layers.
Ben came from the agency world, where projects were database-first and the interface was bolted on at the end. Matt came from the product world, building Navmii, a GPS app used by 30 million+ people. They kept seeing the same problem — agencies treating design as decoration, not discovery — and built the opposite of an agency to fix it.
